Well, I'm pregnant. It took us 22 cycles, 3 of which were medicated, and 2 IUIs to get here, but we're finally here! I got my positive home pregnancy test the morning of my birthday. It made for the best birthday ever! I went in on November 19th for my first blood test. My hcg level was 289, which was great. I went back on November 21st and my level was 569. Since the level is supposed to double ever 48-72 hours, that was also great. I went back this morning for my third blood test and my hcg level was 2986! That's a doubling time of just over 50 hours, which is good. I will go in next week, probably Monday, for my first ultrasound. Hopefully we'll be able to see the heartbeat at that ultrasound.
We told our parents and Ben's grandmother over the Thanksgiving weekend. We were going to wait until after the first ultrasound to tell them, but we wanted to tell Nana in person and knew this was our only chance. So on Thanksgiving Day we told Ben's parents and Nana. They're all very excited for us! Nancy (Ben's mom) every once in awhile would just start clapping quietly in her chair. It was really cute.
We told my parents on Saturday when we stopped by their house on our way home from Tennessee. They're also very excited for us.
We're going to wait until after the first ultrasound to tell our brothers and my grandparents. I'm not sure yet when we'll tell everyone else.
I told my friend, Bethany, this morning. She's been incredibly supportive through this whole process and she was one of the only people who knew when my blood test was. I tried to get in touch with her all of last week, but we were never able to connect. I finally talked to her on her way to work this morning since I was home sick with a nasty cold. She's very excited! She's already talking about the pregnancy journal she wants to buy me and books she wants to get for me. She's so cute!
I can't wait to tell everyone else, but I'm going to. I want to get through at least a few more weeks before I tell work.
I decided that I wanted to start a blog to follow this pregnancy. I've got a long road ahead of me, but I have a feeling that it's going to be July before I know it. Oh, that's when I'm due, I think- towards the end of July. I'm not sure of an actual date yet, though. Hopefully I'll learn that next week after the ultrasound and then I'll let you know...
